First few days

I have found that I have been increasingly resorting to my phone to take pictures while overseas instead of my camera. I had a tendency to only bring my camera out to take serious photos, and thus didn’t take it out very often. Using my phone has sucked the joy out of the act of photography so with birthday money this year I bought a “toy” camera that is fun to use and is encouraging me to be more carefree with my photography. So stay tuned for less polished images with an emphasis on what I see that looks interesting, not necessarily what you’d want to print and put on a wall!

We left on a beautiful late winter day and arrived on just as beautiful a late summer day in Dalyan. The first leg of our direct flight was the hardest, and by the time we boarded our last flight to Dalyan after around 24 hours in transit we were well and truly ready to rest. Arriving at our villa at around 4.30pm gave plenty of time to relax in the pool for a bit before an early night of restless and broken sleep.

We are two of our favorite Turkish breakfasts in. Kefal and Yasemin Mavi. We have enjoyed a new Kunefe shop close to us and caught up with Adam and Jo for afternoon g&t’s.

Our fruit trees are well on their way, if we are lucky we may enjoy pomegranates and bananas if they ripen while we are here!
